Texas AAUP:

Keeping Quality

in

Higher Education

Chapter Services

The moral conscience of the academic profession is embodied in the principles to be found in American Association of University Professors' The Red Book. These principles are advocated in the legislatures and the courts by able national and state AAUP activists. However, to be successful, these principles must be implemented at the local level, and they require strong local advocacy in order to function as they are designed. Therefore, through the Chapter Service Program of the Texas Conference, TC: AAUP strives to develop and support local chapters as active advocates to
  • •defend academic freedom and tenure
  • •empower faculty in shared governance
  • •build strong local chapters for informed and effective local action
